Another passive 'se' question
I know there have been alot of passive question having to do with the use of 'se'. But I cannot find an answer yet for the one that I have:
I am studying the passive voice right now, and am learning things like "En los Estados Unidos se come carne."
What if you wanted to say something like "It is also eaten in Mexico." ??? How would you go about saying that?? Could you still form it in the passive, using 'se' ???
Maybe it is simply "En México también se come" ??????
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, that works.
Have you ever heard the expression "They say that smoking is bad for you"?. If i said this to you, you wouldn´t think of a certain group of people saying this expression. They is referring to a vague or unidentified group of people.
Se can also be used like this Se come carne en los estados unidos - They eat meat in the united states.

Hello Kelar and Welcome to the SpanishDict forum ![]()
I have just checked up about the passive voice in my book 501 verbs by Christopher Kendris ( a language professor)
se dice que: ** **it is said that ....people say that.. they say that... one says that... you say
se sabe que: it is known that....it is known that ...people know that etc...
On that basis I would confidently say se come = it is eaten
So you can say : En México también se come This is correct![]()
Please remember to use accents Kalar they are important /put there for a good reason;
