There is no trick to it. If you can pronounce a Spanish word correctly, it is usually easy to write it. Learn the alphabet well. It will help you spell thousands of Spanish words correctly.

Spanish is pretty much phonetic. Majority of words are just like they sound. You may have to get used to knowing "ll and y" and "b and v (depending on the accent)", but besides that, its simple.

I believe that the best way to learn how to spell is to be exposed to the words in the written form. To do this, you need to read every day.

The easiest way to do this is to read the newspaper in Spanish. You can access many online.

If you spend fifteen minutes a day reading the news in Spanish, you will see words spelled correctly and you will learn them. Also, you will build vocabulary.

The other idea I have is that if you spend time with the flashcards on this site, it will help you immensely. They are very unforgiving. You need to get the spelling 100% right including accents and article agreement, or you get zero points for it.

Try them, they are great.
