How do you "walk" a dog?
After completing one of this course's Spanish lessons, I said "Me gusta caminar los perros" at the animal shelter. An American who speaks excellent Spanish said that there are several ways to say that I like to walk dogs, and that this one is correct.
But a Mexican woman who speaks excellent English says that it is incorrect, and I should say "Me gusta passar los perros."
I think that it is correct.
How do you say "I like to walk dogs"?

To walk a dog is idiomatic as far as I know, so you use pasear instead.
Me gusta pasear los perros.
SpanishDict ! translator says
me gusta pasear a mi perro " i like to walk my dog"
I am not aware of all the possible regional ways of expressing this, but "Pasear al perro" (to talk the dog) is not only used in Spain, but clearly indicated in any good monolingual dictionary (i.e. Spanish for Spanish speakers). Most dictionaries do not contemplate the possibility of walking other beings as a part of the Spanish language, so I assume you can't use "caminar" in most places.
Has anyone ever heard or used "dar le(s) una caminata al perro (los perros)? I think you can also say, "sacar a pasear el perro".... ![]()

Me gusta caminar con perros. -I like to walk with dogs.
