So, no te molestes, is "don't bother' like "don't bother with that, I'll do it" can it also mean, "don't get upset"?

is a lot different than, for goodness sake don't get upset. So it could be taken either way couldn't it??

Yes, in theory it could be. Over here we seldom use it in the sense of don't get upset, we say : No te cabrees, no te enfades.

Interesting to know that. I will assume that it mostly means, don't bother and "no te enfades" / "No te enojes" is don't get upset. - jeezzle, Mar 28, 2011

It can be implied not to get upset. Por exemple: If someone says, "My watch broke!" You can say: "No to molestes"

On my side of the world " ¡Por Dios! No te molestes" means : "Good grief, don't get angry!"
