The word "mentor" comes from Homer's Odyssey, and although it is etymologically related to "mental", it is used as a root. The word "mentor", as a noun, is less used than in English in the same contexts, as words like "guía" or "consejero" are generally preferred. For this reason, verbs like "aconsejar" or "asesorar" are more likely to be used instead. In a company, when one acts like a mentor for another person, I'd personally use "orientar", but in some contexts "aconsejar" also makes sense.
