what does aruñar mean ?

i've never heard this verb before except in a new song. I know aruñon is a pickpocket but is aruñar just mean to pick-pocket somebody ?

I believe the closest description to "aruñar" would be = "to make your best attempt at doing everything you can to scrape together a means, provision, or desire for yourself"

Since I am not a native, there may be other, or better, translations out there.
