Nayarit is a PLACE, a Mexican state on the west coast with some nice beaches. Many tourist shops sell items with "Recuerdo de Nayarit"--"Souvenir of Nayarit"--printed on them.

Building off of thrinital's answer, it seems to say, "memory of Nayarit". Sounds like someone named "Nayarit" passed away.

"recuerdo" is a masculine (Male) way of saying memory, recollection. a feminine will say Recuerda instead of Recuerdo.
