Algun and ningun

Question

So I am not very through with using algún and ningún. Is there a lesson on this site or on any website on how to use them?

When I put, 'I do not have any pets.' I got No tengo ninguna mascota.

I THINK that is right BUT

when i put in I have some money i get Tengo algo de dinero

Which seems unlikely to be correct. Help? also, when do i use algún, alguno, algunas...etc?

Algún, alguno(s), and alguna(s) are used with countable nouns.

Algo de is used with uncountable nouns.

Actually, they are both correct.

I would say "No tengo mascota" though. without ninguna, though it works.

Algo de is another way to say some, like algun but different, you will one day learn the ups and downs of when to use which, I don't know if there is some book explanation, but I would say algo de uses an unmeasured quantity like some, like I got some gas for my car, but for the most part you could probably use either or on the money thing, but I like algo de more. If you said you had some pets, algunas mascotas would be better to me, but I'm no expert..
