This week you need to choose the correct word in parentheses. The correct word is either a pronoun or a contraction. If you are not sure what either is don't worry, I'll tell you.... A pronoun---a word that is used in place of a noun and a contraction has an apostrophe and shows where a letter or letters have been left out after combining two words....For example: "can not" can be combined to form "can't" or "would have" can be combined to form "would've". As for the pronoun---and example could be "John" and it can be change to the pronoun "him" or "he" or "car" can be changed to "it". So with that being said, let us get started. As always native English speakers can not (or can't) answer but they can translate the sentences into Spanish. Native Spanish speakers can simply re-write the sentences with the correct choice in the sentence (if you write it, read it, and say it----it will help you learn it!!). Good luck and have fun. smile
Choose the pronoun or contraction to complete each sentence:
1. Imagine (your, you’re) visiting La Pedrera museum in Spain.
2. In one room, you find remarkable paintings in (their, they’re) original state.
3. La Pedrera opens (its, it’s) doors at 9am.
4. 4. (Its, It’s) a mystery why the FC Barcelona football club museum opens up at 10am.
5. The Picasso Museum in Malaga has many of (it’s, its) paintings on display.

Imaginate que vas a visitar al Museo La Pedrera en España.

En un cuarto encuentras cuadros notables y en sus estados originales.

La Pedrera abres sus puertas a las nueve de la mañana.

Es un misterio por qué el FC Barcelona Club de fútbol abre a las diez de la mañana.

El Museo Picasso en Malaga tiene muchos de sus cuadros en exposición

Did you find these sentences in a book or did you translate them yourself? The reason I am asking is that there are some errors in your answers. - fatchocobo, Mar 28, 2011
I translated them myself. I know there were some mods coming around my threads and I welcome any feedback. :) Thanks - Jason7R, Mar 28, 2011
