I wish you would

I wish you would

If this is "Ojala que pudiera" then I need to rethink a couple of things.

For instance, I could write a song about it, I wish you would.

Por ejemplo, podría escribir una canción a cerca de esto, ojala que pudiera hacerlo.

Gracias.

"Ojalá (que) pudiera" - "I wish (that) I could"...

Ojalá pudiera verte siempre. Ojalá que pudiera ganar un millón de dólares.

"Ojalá (que) pudieras" - "I wish (that) you could..."

Ojalá pudieras dejar de ser tan cruel. Ojalá que pudieras venir a mi fiesta.

How about "quisiera que + past subjunctive?"

Quisiera que me dieras unas pocas migas de amor...I wish that you would give me a few crumbs of love.

Quisiera que por fin escribieras ese libro... I wish that you would just write that book.

Quisiera que conocieras a mi hermana. I wish that you woulod meet my sister.

Or - to take your suggestion - "Podría yo escribir una canción sobre este tema, pero quisiera que la escribieras tú."

What about "Deseo que lo hagas."?

I think "Ojala que" is more like "I hope that" than "I wish that (hypothetical situation) existed". That is, I think it references possible or likely events in the future, rather than contrary-to-fact hypothetical situations in the present (someone please correct me if I am wrong).

I found a few examples in this thread that illustrate what I am talking about. They are all more along the lines of "I hope that X happens" than "I wish that things were like X".
