Spanish does not use an english "V" , it is a "B" sound.

You will get used to the way that the spanish V sounds. Turn on some Spanish television and just listen to get a feel of what the language "sounds" like. You also have to keep in mind that Spanish speakers, just like English ones, have regional accents. Some of the V's sound a bit different than others, but the V sound is more or less the way that we pronounce a B in English.
