In a comedy I found this expression: Domingo: "Está más metía que el soco del medio..." What does this mean?

Mas metia que el soco del medio.

A soco is typically a post made of wood that used to build houses in the old days in Puerto Rico. The "soco del medio" is the strongest post that is placed in the very middle of the house. It, structurally, is the most load bearing. Since it is the most important, it is larger in comparison and driven deeper into the ground. Hence the reference "Mas metida que el soco del medio." he was drunker than a soco is deep. Which is substantial....ha ha

Sincerely, A bona fide Puerto Rican

Look at item 2

I understand the verb meter like in meter la pata, but you would have to ask a Puerto Rican about the rest.
