I cannot find a good translation for "headset"

"Headset" has been elusive, I have checked in many resources and cannot find a "meaningful" translation. comments and suggestions please.

When we played in a band in Mexico DF in the 60s, we always said oífonos but auriculares is used as well.

However, "Cofia" is probably closer to what you are seeking link text

The English is a noun + noun compound - not many of those in Spanish.
