I have most of the baseball terminology down, but I don't know how to say "slide" as in "slide into third base."

(Any slang off the top of your head would be fun to know, too. smile

Thanks y gracias

That sounds better. Interesting how barrer is used here.;) - Deanski, Mar 16, 2011
tal vez con deslizarse, una cosa se mueva suavemente sobre otra, y con barrerse, sea más áspero? - Deanski, Mar 16, 2011
That IS interesting. Thank you both for your help. I like the pictures, too. :) Barrer/barrerse isn't mentioned in the definition for "slide" -- perhaps it needs to be added for this context. - Mechtilde, Mar 17, 2011
It would be good to add this meaning in the dictionaries. I think it is widely used at least in Mexico and perhaps in Cuba. - LuisCache, Mar 17, 2011
I agree. I saw barrerse as slide (béisbol) in wordreference.com. - Deanski, Mar 17, 2011
