Possessive contructions
I'm not sure, and hope for some expert help. Do all three of these constructions translate to "Which car is yours?" ¿Cuál coche es el tuyo? , ¿Cuál es su coche? , and ¿Cuál es el coche tuyo?

¿Cuál coche es
eltuyo?
The possessive pronoun does not take the definite article following the verb Ser.
....su coche has changed to tone from informal to formal. Use tu coche. (short form possessive adjective)
The 3rd one is correct using the long form possessive adjective.
The other form of possession that you did not mention is (e.g. el libro de usted...for your) or using a prepositional phrase to show possession.
De also is used in Spanish to indicate possession. We may talk about "John's shoe" in English, but in Spanish it's el zapato de Juan, or "the shoe of John."

Possession: Possession or belonging, either physical or figurative, as indicated by "'s" in English is almost always translated using de followed by the possessor in Spanish: el carro de Matilda, Matilda's car; la clase de Sr. Gómez, Mr. Gomez's class; las esperanzas del pueblo, the people's hopes; ¿De quién es este lápiz? Whose pencil is this?
I would probably say "¿Cuál es tu coche?" "Which is your car?" but that's just my opinion!
