En elestaba la vida e la vida ero la luz de los hombres" What does this translate to in English? I know some of the wrords but can't make a statement out of it. Thanks

Perhaps this is what you meant to type:
"En el estaba la vida y la vida era la luz de los hombres"
Perhaps this is what it means in English:
"In him was life and the life was the light of men"
It looks like a statement taken from a bible passage.
