How to say .... in Spanish? --> ¿Cómo se dice ... en español?
What does word ... mean in Spanish? --> ¿Qué significa la palabra ...en español?
Haha I had my first Spanish lesson in last week and it's almost all I can say in Spanish :D But I hope this page will be helpful for me

Although there always can be a smart mouth and reply "Like this, observe..." or "carefully" 
It is better to ask: ¿Cúal es la pronunciación de ... or ¿Que significa ...?

If you want a translation and you say "¿Que significa "dog"?" or ¿Cúal es la pronunciación de "dog"? You'll get a blank look, the 3 quesitons are very different. - rabbitwho, Mar 13, 2011
