I am currently working on a translation of an opera song and I'm stuck on this line. Anyone have any ideas?
yo la dije que vence todo el que sabe esperar.
A las oraciones ven me a buscar que es la mejor hora para rezar.
These are very old phrases from Spain and I just can't get my head around them.

My guesses:
yo la dije que vence todo el que sabe esperar.
I told her that everything she knew how to hope for had expired/died/passed/gone bad.
A las oraciones ven me a buscar que es la mejor hora para rezar.
To the phrases that send me searching for the best time to pray.

'Oraciones' can also be translated 'prayers,' can't it, which would seem to fit too. - Achsah, Mar 11, 2011
