Correct use of past perfect passive?

Hi, I'd like to get feedback whether the short text below is grammatically correct, especially with regard to the use of the past perfect passive.
He llamado a la empresa editorial a media mañana. La oficinista con la que he hablado me ha informado de que el último número (marzo 2011) había sido cursado a mí dirección el lunes pasado.

In my opinion...
Just use the simple past. In English you wouldn't say "The receptionist who I have spoken with..."
Llamé a la empresa editorial a media mañana. La oficinista con la que hablé me informó que el último número había sido enviado a mí dirreción el lunes pasado.

In my experience the use of simple past vs. present perfect differs across the Spanish-speaking world. In Spain (which is closer to me than Latin America) I think the present perfect is used much more to describe very recent events. - RobertoLeones, Mar 10, 2011
