¿A qué se dedica? is how you want to put your question.

Would be interesting to know where they use that phrase, I understand that it's normal in Peru amongst other places. No heard it here in Colombia.

Pues, hago varias cosas en Bogotá pero en este momento me dedico a mostrarles Colombia a mis padres que me visitan por un mes...

¿A qué se dedica?

This is one of the phrases I was taught to use when I want to say, "What do you do (for a living)?" Perhaps it's more used in Iberia than in other Hispano-American countries.

Yes, in Peru we would say "¿Qué hay de nuevo?". Es como decir "¿Qué tal?", "¿Cómo te va?" o "¿Qué novedades?" o algo así.

También Bugs Bunny dice: "¿Qué hay de nuevo, viejo?"
