Mieciu ama ir a pescar. Is it correct?

Mieciu ama ir a pescar.

I was trying to say "Miecu loves to go fishing." Am I correct? What I'm unsure of is whether or not I must also conjugate ir to match the ama. I figured I don't have to, since "to go fishing" is an activity and I thought it should remain as ir.

Yes, great answer, you can also say: A Miecu le encanta pescar.

Can one really say this? Ama ir a pescar? I'd prefer encantar to express "love" for activities & inanimate objects, and use amar for people, pets, & country. I could be wrong, but I've never seen amar used like this in books written by natives or scholars, in movies even, & personally I'd feel uncomfortable using it for those other than the three I stated.

Hmmm...I'm not sure that I agree with this "rule." I think that it is possible to find many examples where two infinitives do indeed appear next to one another in a sentence:

?Fran Perea lamenta no poder actuar en el Teatro Cervantes. (La opinión de Malaga)
?No te va a gustar ver la luna llena en el Luna Park (Diario-Argentina)
?Sin querer detallar el plan que cuenta presentar, Netanyahu parece preferir seguir esta vía. (El Nuevo Siglo-Colombia)
?Se perdió del todo la perspectiva y pesó más querer aparentar que hacer lo que hacía falta... (La voz de Barcelona)
?¿A quién le va a gustar ver sufrir a la madre?”. (La Prensa-Bolivia)

With a little tinkering, it is probably even possible to change the original sentence so that two infinitives are placed side-by-side:

Mieciu ama ir a pescar. ? Mieciu solía amar ir a pescar

Or consider Dakie's suggestion:

A Miecu le encanta pescar. ? A Miecu le va a encantar pescar.
