I have heard expressions like :

"Do you have a popular wine/liquor in this region?"

or

"What is the most popular local wine/liquor?"

"¿Hay un licor típico local?

In Chihuahua we have "Sotol". Made from the agave of the high desert. Sotol añejo reposado served very cold, is great!

Basically similar to tequila. The name Sotol is a denominación de origen which means the name can only be used in Chihuahua.

In Bolivia it is Singani - a bit like Grappa but not as nice.

En Bolivia es Singani - un poco como el Grappa pero no como agradable.

Mixed with Sprite it is called Chufle.
