What would "Estás hecho mierda" mean?

What would "Estás hecho mierda" mean?

I'm in a play-by-email RPG, and this phrase came in a conversation between my character and another, and before I get irritated, I wanted to make sure this is a derogatory comment.

"Estás hecho mierda" was the phrase used, and unfortunately, my Spanish is super rusty.

Thanks for your help!

I would recommend you avoid that, see Julian's post below. - pacofinkler, Mar 8, 2011
Thanks, everyone! I knew it wasn't nice, but I wanted to double-check before reacting. The little Spanish I remember comes from high school classes, and that was a long time ago. - Gyrmalcyn, Mar 8, 2011

This expression is normally used to talk about things rather than people and with an article, ie: Esta ciudad está hecha una mierda .... This city is worthless (tse, tse)

To refer to a person this way would be one of the most derogatory things you could say. You´re better off not using it for people.

Agradezco la "limpieza," mi tesoro. Soy hombre vulgar pero te aseguro que mi amor por ti es puro - 005faa61, Mar 9, 2011

You are very damaged... But that's an ordinary way to say it.

Hmmm, now what exactly did he say? Can you reproduce the conversation.

Actually, it may simply mean: I am feeling low, I am feeling really ****ty.

And yes, it is used with an article.

Where is this person you were talking to from?
