Is this sentence OK?: I work much time now than I did five years ago

Much is usually used in the negative in English.

I don't have much money - I have a lot of money.

It is never used with "countable" nouns.

I work much longer (time) than I did 5 years ago. (the time is not needed)

I work many more hours than I did 5 years ago.

No, it is not correct.

The word than signals a comparative, so instead of much you should use more, or much more (in which case much is a quantifier)

"I work much more time now than I did five years ago"

I work more time now than I did five years ago. I work a lot more time now .....
