I would say,"¿Conoces a Monica?"

The verb conocer is to know someone.

For asking if you know a person you must always use the verb Conocer + a

¿Conoces a John? = do you know John?

You can also use "conocer" to ask if someone has visited/been to another state, country, place, etc. but you would not need to use the "a" after the verb conocer in these cases.

¿Conoces los estados unidos? = have you visited/been to the U.S.?

all the above answers are great... but informal! i believe (correct me if I am wrong guys!) if you are talked to an adult you will want to use the "usted" form of conocer, which would make the sentence, "¿Conoce a Maria?" or "¿Conoce a Juan?"

--if you are just talking to a friend "¿Conoces a Maria?" will work fine.
