Brake pads?
How would you say brake pads?

Balatas is correct if they are for disc brakes.
Zapatas is for drum brakes. Some newer American and Japanese cars still have these on the back and old cars have them on all four.
Pastillas is sometimes used but be careful because depending on who you talk to, it could mean for disc or drum brakes.
El freno = The brake
Los frenos = The brakes
The person should get the idea with saying that. Click here for some more useful vocabulary about cars. ![]()
.Note:
One thing I do want to point out. If you put brake pad into the translator, you'll get 3 different answers. I've never heard of the second, the first is pastilla de freno which would work if you really want to get specific. But the third zapata de freno is something completely different. That is a brake shoe which, working with cars, I can tell you a shoe and a pad are different. ![]()
