It took 8 months of hard work by a team of really awesome people. (I certainly learned a lot about stage lighting and sound engineering!) Thank you so much to the amazing actors for providing the talent and helping people learn the correct way to pronounce words in Spanish! You guys are the best!
I can't wait to hear what the SD community thinks!
Here is the link to the official press release!
These are very usefull indeed ... Thank you very much for all the team workers in this website.

I wish I could get a list of all the words that she does so I can listen to them in my time.
I wonder if this is possible, I will investigate or Paralee herself might see this question![]()
íQué fantástico, Paralee! Es estupendo saber que tenemos tantas personas maravillosas aquí y de gran dedicación que han estado trabajando mucho para crear este nuevo video para pronunciar las palabras español :-)
I don't like being the first to sound a negative note but ...
Because of frequent questions (and some disagreements) about b|v, I checked out the videos for "cabo" and "uva". In both cases the b|v is intervocalic and should be pronounced with the so-called "soft b sound". For "cabo" the male speaker pronounced the "b" correctly when reading/saying the word isolation or in a sentence but when pronouncing the word "slowly" (emphasizing the two syllables) he switched to the "strong b sound". I know many speakers (in many languages, not just Spanish) do this (i.e. distort the natural pronunciation when trying to speak slowly). The video for "uva" was worse still. The only time she pronounced the 'v' with the "weak b|v sound" was when saying the full sentence. For the word in isolation and, even more clearly, when emphasizing the syllables, she used the labio-dental "v" sound of English (and several other languages) which, in Spanish is a major "no-no". She does the same thing in the video for "vaca".
Yes, I have noticed these short videos and I have been using them. They have been very helpful. Thank you very much, Paralee and the native speakers for all your hard work. ¡Muchas garcias!
That's really great. I think they will be very useful.
I noticed that the woman uses seseo pronunciation (I had to make sure "cerveza" was included in the list of most important words). Is this going to be the rule, or will there be examples of pronunciations from different regions?
This will be cool! ![]()

Frabulous Frantastic wonderful!!
Thank you to Paralee and all who worked on it.
This will surely be a great aid to us all!!
¡Estupendo!
I found these the other day, and have been using them. The girl is great and her pronunciation is perfect for what I am going for. I wish I could get a list of all the words that she does so I can listen to them in my time.
