Hay un diccionario en este foro. There is a dictionary on this forum.
Hay una pelota en su guante. There is a ball in his glove.
Hay dos mujeres en la tienda. There are two woman in the store.
Hay can mean, "there is" or "there are" depending on the context.
Also a person can write questions with the use of hay? Can you figure out how with the help of the dictionary and lessons? Hope this helps some.
At first I was a bit confused as I thought you were asking for the word "hay" in English (as horse food).
Hay comes from the verb haber (to have). But its equivalent in English is not to have but There is and There are. Examples:
Hay una mosca en mi sopa. There is a fly in my soup.
Hay miles de personas en el estadio. There are thousands of people at the stadium.
The lessons talk about how to use hay more fully. Right now I don't have any links. Sorry. Maybe someone else in the forum has more information.
I also have learned that "hay" can be used in questions. Examples are.
¿Hay una fiesta mañana? - Is there a festival tomorrow?
¿Hay dos mujeres en la tienda? - Are there two women in the store?
Again, hope this helps.
