difference between marchar and salir?

I am confused about the words marchar and salir.How do I know which one to use and when? thanks kmelon

"Salir" is simply to leave.
"Marchar" has more of a feeling of going or leaving permanently or with great haste.
ie: Te marchaste sin decirme ni una palabra .... You ran off without telling me a single word.
ie: ¿A que hora te vas a salir? .... What time are you leaving?
