You can say "I go to carnival on my next vacation", but "I am going to carnival on my next vacation" sounds more natural.

No. Hospital is simply where you are going. In the carnival case I didn't say "the" carnival because "carnival" is a very specific celebration in Brasil and some other countries. - Beatrice-Codder, Mar 9, 2011

In the United States we have many carnivals and fairs so we say, ''I am going to the carnival tonight."

That pretty much does away with the idea that carnival is a verb, at least in this country.

I'd say "I'm going to a carnival on my next vacation". sounds like fun, have a good time!

¿Cuál es tu pregunta? Tal vez quisiste decir ¿Cómo se celebra el carnaval en tu país? Si ese es el caso, entonces pudieras decir: How do you celebrate carnival/mardi gras in your country?

Carnival por si solo significa feria (como las ferias de un circo).
