How to say "she was a terrorist"?

she was a terrorist. "era una terrorista" or should I use "fue una terrorista". I think i should use the imperfect because it was a habitual action.

Era terrorista sounds better since you are narrating. Fue terrorista desde 1990 a 2004 is another possibility but you are making sure the action of the verb does end.
