What is sali?

I feel like an idiot asking my friend all the time what he means. He sent a quick email saying he was sorry he had to cut the converstation short and sali was his subject line. My name is Shar, does that translate to that or is it sorry? I am at a loss. Can you please help? Thanks so much!

Hi,
"salí" is the first person singular preterit of the verb salir = to leave
