Please explain the difference between naranja and anaranjado. Differences between morado, cafe and moreno.
Please explain the difference between "naranja" and "anaranja."
Is the first the color word and second the fruit? Or vice versa?
Also, what is the Mexican Spanish term for "brown" as in the color word that a child might first learn? Is there a difference between "morado," "cafe," " moreno," "chocolate?"
Then there is the color word "purpura" = purple but some children say "morado" for purple. I thought I knew these words quite well in Spanish but now I am confused!!
I am an ELL teacher working with Spanish speaking 4 year olds in a Minneapolis program to teach basic English and school behaviors before they start kindergarten in the fall. Many of these children do not know color words in Spanish (or numbers, for that matter).

Naranja is a fruit and a colour. Anaranjado is the same colour, but it´s only a colour not a fruit. Brown is MARRON. Morado is purple. Also VIOLETA is violet, purple. CAFE is as the colour of coffee: BROWN, like TOSTADO=tan/toasted. Is almost same as MORENO, but this one is for/about the hair colour or the skin, as brown or dark. Chocolate is Brown. There´s not such a big difference between them.
hope this can help you, bye!
And beis is beige.
