Que hace el tiempo - is that wrong?

Saw in another post 'que tiempo hace' - but my inclination is to say 'que hace el tiempo'. Would that be wrong?

Thanks.

If you ask "¿Qué hace el tiempo?," the answer could be "El tiempo hace (algo)." You have to put a noun in place of algo. This is not really how you answer questions about weather.

If you ask "¿Qué tiempo hace?", answers would be "Hace viento," "Hace mucho sol," "Está lloviendo," etc. These sound normal and they are what you normally would hear in conversations about weather.
