Eres tú que me apeteces

If "Me apeteces" works then why doesn't "Eres tú que me apeteces", or does it? Gracias.

It works but with the personal pronoun "Eres tú la que me apetece"

Sorry, Jeezzle; I forgot to mention that with this construction you also need to conjugate Apetecer to 3rd person singular.

Tú me apeteces. = correct. Eres tú que me apeteces = wrong.

Apetecer literally means "to be appealing" or "to induce a craving". Your sentence in English must have been "You are the person (It's you) who appeals to me the most." Saying "It's you (Eres tú) who (que) you are appealing (apeteces) to me (me)," just doesn't sound right. You can reverse the sentence this way: "Lo que me apetece eres tú." or "La persona que me apetece eres tú." to better see that apetecer needs to take a 3rd person conjugation here.

The conjuction "que" is the key here. You will notice that after que, the sentence takes on the 3rd person form.

An example in English will further clarify the point: You are beautiful. It's you who is beautiful.
