Do you know any songs to help you remember Spanish grammar or conjugations?

I had a song stuck in my head yesterday, but it wasn't any regular song. It was the song I learned almost 10 years ago for the Active Voice Personal Endings in Latin to the Mickey Mouse song: -o/-m, -s, -t...-mus, -tis, -nt... Active voice....Personal Endings...

It got me to thinking that not only is this an incredible teaching tool considering I don't remember any Latin any more but I still remember these verb conjugations, but also that I don't know any for Spanish! And that's just crazy! I have plenty of acronyms for when to use the Subjunctive (UWEIRDO) and when to use Ser or Estar (DOT for Ser and LoCo for Estar), but no songs!

So I thought I'd reach out to my favorite Spanish language learning community and see if you knew of any fun songs to share that help you remember conjugations endings, grammar rules, or even vocabulary sets (like colors or Spanish speaking country names).

Paralee I don't know any at the moment but I have several Latino friends in Peru Columbia and other countries through Skype and Messenger so I will ask around and re-post if I hear of any I will also ask my new native Spanish teacher in Skype who lives in Spain

I also want to take the opportunity to thank you for all the wonderful teaching videos that have been, and continue to be a fantastic learning resource for so many of us, myself included. They have helped me understand many of the tricky subject areas such as the subjunctive, and refresh my understanding on areas such as por v para, ser v estar.

Thanks very much for all the hard work you have done here and keep doing at SpanishDict It is very much appreciated. We love you very much ..as much as Heidi but don't tell her I said that lol hahaha tongue wink tongue rolleye smile LOL grin

Paralee I have found an interesting link to songs for children in Spanish would you lik to check this out? link text

Conocí una canción española para niños en mi juventud pero no sé que es el título. La me enseñó mi abuela. Aqui están las palabras (es de un marinero):

Capitán de madera hoy tendrás que navegar en tu barco de madera. Tendrás que cruzar el mar.

Captain of wood today you will have to navigate in your wooden boat. You will have to cross the sea.

What! _U_WEIRDO now?? What on earth happened, did the subjunctive just get more complicated? Paralee, you know that those who say that the subjunctive is complicated are all lying, right?

Sorry, I couldn't help it wink Nice to see you on the forum, it's like la visita del médico.

not more complicated, just better. the U stands for Uncertainty, which I think encompasses all the other letters too! - Paralee, Feb 25, 2011
I know I always feel uncertain when it comes to using the subjunctive. - webdunce, Feb 25, 2011
