Okay, you have a high speed internet connection and you can watch video from other sites.
When you access the page for the videos, the video should start automatically and play a short advertisement video.
I may be totally off-tract, but my guess is there is a setting in Flash Player or Internet Explorer that prevents the screen from being displayed.
If you feel confident about working on the computer, you can look over the settings for IE and Flash. To access the Flash Player settings, go to the page where the video should appear and right click where the video should be located. If Flash Player is installed and operational, you will see a box that will allow you to review Flash Player settings.
Local settings should be
enable hardware accelleration privacy set to "deny" (other options may work, but mine is set to "deny") local storage set to 100 KB (or so) microphone should be enabled camera doesn't matter
If these are set correctly, you can review the Global Settings for Flash by closing the box, return to the video area and right click again. Select "Global Settings". This selection will open a new IE window to theAdobe Flash Player Help page.
You can review the Flash settings on your computer from this page. The page also extensive descriptions for Flash switch settings.
Also, there could be other programs running on your computer that inhibit the video. I believe Windows Messenger might interfere with the video in some situations.
I've tried to replicate the condition on my computer by changing switches, but I have not been able to create the situation you describe.
Let us know how it goes.
I had this problem with Safari. I went into Safari preferences and clicked
"Enable plug ins" And all was restored , I had inadvertently unclicked it previously.
You can probably see all the videos on youtube here The link is a youtube site search for ´spanishdict´
Here's another suggestion. You could download another browser (maybe Google Chrome or Mozilla Foxfire) and see if the video will play using it. If it does, then Flash Player is working and the problem is in Internet Explorer.
If it doesn't, try uninstalling and re-installing Flash Player. That will set the internal switch settings back to the initial settings.
I hope that helps!
It must be installed, because I can watch video on another sites. When I open any "Watch" lesson there's no screen with video. But "Regoznize" works very well.
Welcome to the forum!
Is there an error message given when you try to watch the videos?
Some people on the forum might be able to help, but
- what operating system are you using? (i.e. "Windows XP")
- what browser are you using? (i.e. "Internet Explorer")
- do you have Adobe Flash Player installed?
- do you have a high speed internet connection? (broad band)
Let us know and we'll try to help.
It would probably be best if you un-accepted my first answer. That will allow other members to contribute to the discussion if they have experience.
I'm not sure about your operating system. I believe you will need to install Adobe Flash Player to play the videos. Can you see if it is installed? To check
click on the "Start" button --> control panel --> Add/remove programs
The computer will take a while to display all the installed software. It should list Adobe Flash Player. If it does not, you will likely need to install it.
