Casa is feminine, so yo can't say del casa, because that would be "de el casa"

For casa you must use "de la casa"

Good question, and welcome to the forum!

Greg is correct when he says "...you must use "de la casa" because "casa" is a feminine noun and requires "la" as the article.

The contraction "del" comes from "de el," for example:

"Día" is a masculine noun, therefore, you would say "Plato del día" (Dish of the day).
