So lata "can" can also be nuisance, annoyance, like "rollo"? Is this understood in Mexico also? Ser mujer es un rollo. ¿Verdad? They said this in a show so I am just repeating it.

Yes, lata can also mean molestia, nuisance, pain, drag.
Es una lata tener que ???? - It's a nuisance, pain, drag, having to ????
