The verb apetecer takes an indirect object (apetecer a). It's conjugated as Gustar.
Me apetece
Te apetece
Le apetece, etc.
In this case, the verb in conjugated in the simple past; therefore, you have to say Le apeteció.

What's "IO"? Anyway it means, more or less,
"He wanted a few days filming in Hawaii, so I accepted the role. "
