Quiero is a verb form from querer - to want/love. It means 'I want'.

Quiera is another form from the same verb. It is a present subjunctive, used in different (grammatical) situations.

Verbs in Spanish do not 'agree' in the sense you refer to. No matter who is doing the 'wanting', it's still: 'quiero' for `I want', 'quieres' for 'you want', 'quiere' for he, she or it wants, etc.

Agreement is a characteristic of adjectives, which often agree with the nouns they describe.

e.g. un hombre viejo - an old man una mujer vieja - an old woman dos hombres viejos - two old men dos mujeres viejas - two old women

Thankyou :) - gingerhoney, Feb 23, 2011
This reply is wrong. "quiero" is a verb form. Verbs do not have grammatical gender in Spanish. - samdie, Feb 23, 2011
