You probably want to explain what middle school means to you. It doesn't exist in all parts. I went to infants, juniors then comprehensive school. Maybe define the ages range for middle school. Welcome. - afowen, Feb 21, 2011

Welcome to the forum!

In Mexico it is "secundaria".

In Mexico, "primaria" is elementary, "secundaria" is junior high or middle school, and "prepa" is high school.

This is not the same in all countries!

And "Prepa" is short for "Preparatoria" - 005faa61, Feb 21, 2011

In most of S.A. there is only "primaria y secundaria" 1-6 grade and 7-12 so, I would say" Pepito asiste el segundo año de la secundaria" Pepito is going or in 7th grade!
