Hello and welcome to the forum!

There are several different Spanish equivalents for the English verb "to become," depending on several factors. (Note that in English, various verbs like "to get" and "to turn" are sometimes more idiomatic than the literal meaning "to become."

There are a few: Ponerse, Volverse, Hacerse, Convertirse en, etc.

Please take a look here at these examples.

nbyrne, this site has a great video lesson on this subject. The use of several verbs is described in the video. I believe "ponerse" would be the correct verb to the condition of "angry". I would use "podría" for "could". In your example, "he could become angry", I'm going to guess "él podría ponerse enojo".

I'm not comfortable with that, though. You might want to wait on another member to correct me if I'm wrong.

Here is the link to the video.
