The prefexis re-, rete- and requete- add emphasis as in 'very'.

Could be that...

Afowen, are "rete-" and "requete-" gender neutral? Just curious... - cristalino, Feb 17, 2011
I guess that as prefixes they have nothing to do with gender, whatever follows will take the gender - rebueno, rebuena etc. Not sure whether you hyphenate it or leave a space or not... - afowen, Feb 17, 2011
Exactly. It's a prefix without hyphen and it's non-gender - 005faa61, Feb 17, 2011

Fistly, the prefix re is not slang nor it is used only in México:

re-.

(Del lat. re-).

  1. (...). Con adjetivos o adverbios, puede reforzarse el valor de intensificación añadiendo a re- las sílabas -te o -quete. Retebueno. Requetebién.

Real Academia Española © Todos los derechos reservados.

So you could say:

Esto está rebueno, retebueno o requetebueno!!!

Secondly, chulo/chula is a mexicanism, and means pretty.

You could also say:

Cómo me queda?

Rebonito.

Retebonito.

Requetebonito.

They could be saying "wey, chulos" which "chulos" means "cool" and "wey" can mean "friend or buddy". wink

Important to say this is also slang, and if I understand and remember correctly, I believe it's used only in Mexico? smile
