Hello everyone smile

Doing a translation, once again, and there's this long sentence, one part of which I cannot really get the meaning of. So the whole sentence is: Le preguntamos si la fama y el dinero no le están transformando, si no existe el riesgo de que su planta de "gigantón afable "pase a estrella intocable a la americana".

Some more context: The text is about Pau Gasol (a famous spanish basketball player). I don't know anything about basketball though so my attempt to translate the sentence is:

We asked him if the fame and fortune aren’t transforming him, if the risk that his reputation of an “affable giant” **would pass to the untouchable star of the jacket. **

Thanks rolleyes

** Le preguntamos si la fama y el dinero no le están transformando, si no existe el riesgo de que su planta de "gigantón afable pase a estrella intocable a la americana**

.. and with the above imput, maybe something like....We asked him if fame and fortune aren’t transforming him, and if the risk is there that his reputation as an “affable giant” would change him into an untouchable star in the American way.

I would say Would pass to the untouchable star like in america, I'm not sure if that's what you meant to say when you wrote star of the jacket.
