what does "ay caromba" mean?

I'd like to know both the literal translation and something funny

It's just a joke for response to an email that an Hispanic friend of mine sent me. I have heard that "Corumba" or something like it might translate loosely into "penis." ...

Nothing weird going on here (in this day and age you have to kind of say that. Just want to joke around w him). If you feel uncomfortable in answering then just don't. Political correctness sucks.

Hmmm, looks like your spelling "Carombá" is a city in Brazil, but if it's "ay caramba" you're after, then here's wiki: ¡Ay, caramba! (pronounced [?ai ka??amba]) comes from the Spanish interjection ¡ay! (denoting surprise or pain) and caramba (a minced oath, a euphemism for carajo, an interjection expressing pain or surprise similar to "ouch" or "gee"), which is an exclamation used today in surprise (usually positive). Surely you have heard how Bart Simpson popularized this phrase over the years... I'm sure this has been covered ad nauseum....
