Normally using temporary/permanent as criteria is frowned upon as there are many exceptions. (e.g. está muerto)
Ser=inherent characteristics/qualities
Estar=state of being or condition/situation
The temporary aspect come into play with state of being or situation. Usually the state of being (e.g. being enfuriated) or situation is short-lived, or else it would be considered a quality of the object/person. Being dead (a state of being) is not considered a quality of something like color, shape, texture, personality, etc.
You might find the CID method (described in the library) useful with adjectives and Ser/Estar.
You can say things like "Yo soy alto" (don't forget if you are a guy put O at the end and if you are a girl put an A) which means I am tall. Or for emotion "Yo estoy contento" I am happy. I am a male so I put O lol. Estar is for emotions or things that are not permanent. Lazy is considered permanent though lol like "El es perezoso" He is lazy. Ser ( yo soy atractivo- i am attractive ) is for permanent things. Sorry if I kinda got off topic there but you never need a refresher lol
.
Two ways to say "I am" in Spanish are "Soy or Yo soy" and "Estoy or Yo estoy." The personal pronouns are not needed for correct grammar but you may use them for emphasis when you want emphasis. The choice depends on the adjective. If it is a permanent feature or condiion, such as your natural physical measurements or appearance characteristics, use "Soy." as "Soy alto y delgado." If the condition or feature is temporary, use "Estoy." As "Estoy contento." o "Estoy enfermo."
Welcome to the forum! Adjectives are words that describe you such as tall, thin, smart, fast, intelligent, etc.
¡Buena suerte!
