Help me build the perfect sentence.
I am trying to translate the sentence 'Today I finished a 17-day experiment'. I came up with these possibilities: 1) Hoy completé un experimento de diecisiete días. 2) Hoy he terminado un experimento de diecisiete días. 3) Hoy terminé un 17 experimento de diecisiete días. 4) Acabé hoy un experimento de 17 días.
I understand that verb choice is often a matter of preference, but does one verb fit better here?
When to use he terminado vs terminé?
Is Acabé hoy better than Hoy acabé? Why?
Please tell me if you think I'm obsessing too much here.

Thanks, I'll try to relax a little!
You're obsessing too much! All would get your message across except for #3. You just wouldn't say that.
