Would it be the same for both sexes ... Getting tattoo so has to be correct, so is my wife getting the same one as well so which would be appropriate for each of us.

Needless to say, you're gonna need several members input especially from natives before you commit to a correct saying that will be on your body forever. I am not native, only advanced so everything I say could be wrong, but I like "durar" for last, and I like "Nuestro amor durará hasta después de la muerte". But you should understand that saying could be wrong, you will need the input of at least five natives to come to a conclusion of what is "right" for your tattoo. (I am not native)....
