"No dejemos que se nos acabe"

I'm translating the Juanes song, La Vida es un Ratico, and in that context I think that "No dejemos que se nos acabe que todavía hay muchas cosa por hacer" means "Let's not let it (life) come to an end." I assume that it's referring to life because that's in the title and no other noun is mentioned in the lines before this one. Any thoughts?
